SABIC BM1052 HDPE Unimodal Resin
SABIC BM1052 is a unimodal high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resin with high stiffness, excellent processing performance and a good balance of mechanical properties.
Physical Properties
- Density: Measured by ASTM D1505, it’s 0.952 g/cc (0.0344 lb/in³), which impacts the material’s weight and processing characteristics in various applications.
- ESCR 100% Igepal®: Tested following F50 and ASTM D1693B, it’s ≥1200 hours, indicating excellent stress – cracking resistance in a 100% Igepal® environment.
- ESCR 10% Igepal®: Based on F50 and ASTM D1693B, it’s 720 hours, showing good durability against stress cracking in a 10% Igepal® solution.
- Melt Flow:Per ASTM D1238, melt flow rates are 0.050 g/10 min at 2.16 kg, 190 °C; 0.38 g/10 min at 5.00 kg, 190 °C; and 10 g/10 min at 21.6 kg, 190 °C.

- Large Containers and Drums: Due to its excellent mechanical properties, SABIC BM1052 is well-suited for manufacturing large-volume containers and drums up to 220 liters.
- These products require high stiffness and impact resistance to handle the weight of their contents and the stresses of shipping and storage.
- Automotive Parts: The material’s rigidity and durability are also beneficial for certain automotive blow molded parts that are not exposed to high temperatures.
- This can include various reservoirs and other components where a rigid, impact-resistant design is needed to withstand the vehicle’s environment.
