Chevron Phillips Marlex 7109FJ LLDPE Resin
Chevron Phillips Marlex 7109FJ is a linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) resin specifically designed for blown film extrusion.
Physical Properties
- Density: Measured per ASTM D1505, the material’s density is 0.918 g/cc (0.0332 lb/in³), reflecting standard thermoplastic properties for lightweight applications.
- Thickness: At 25.4 microns (1.00 mil, as tested), the dimension offers a balance of thinness and structural integrity for film or sheet applications.
- Melt Flow: As specified in ASTM D1238, the melt flow rate is 0.90 g/10 min under a 2.16 kg (4.76 lb) load at 190 °C (374 °F).
- Antiblock Level: With 2500 ppm of antiblock additives, the formulation prevents film sticking, ensuring smooth handling in packaging and industrial uses.
- Slip Level: The 1000 ppm slip agent content reduces surface friction, enhancing material flow during manufacturing and facilitating easy release in end products.
Polymer Properties:
- Base Material: Linear Low – Density Polyethylene (LLDPE)
- Key Features:
- Modified to ensure good stiffness at thin gauges through precise control of crystallinity.
- Has excellent drawdown properties due to specific processing aids, and shows good compatibility for blending with LDPE or HDPE.
- Contains a low amount of antiblocking agent to prevent film sticking during production and use.
