Chevron Phillips Marlex 7109M LLDPE Resin

Chevron Phillips Marlex® 7109M is a linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) resin produced by Chevron Phillips Chemical.

Physical Properties

  • Density: Tested per ASTM D1505, the material’s density is 0.918 g/cc (0.0332 lb/in³), aligning with standard thermoplastic measurements.
  • Thickness: At 31.8 microns (1.25 mil), the dimension suits applications requiring balanced flexibility and durability in thin-film production.
  • Melt Flow: As specified in ASTM D1238E, the melt flow rate is 0.90 g/10 min at 190 °C under a 2.16 kg load, indicating processability for extrusion or molding.
  • Antiblock Level: With 6500 ppm of antiblock agents, the formulation prevents film adhesion, enhancing usability in packaging and industrial rolls.
  • Slip Level: The 1600 ppm slip additive content reduces surface friction, optimizing material flow during manufacturing and end-use performance.

Polymer Properties:

  • Base Material: Linear Low – Density Polyethylene (LLDPE)
  • Key Features:
    • Optimized molecular chain structure for blown film applications, enhancing toughness and processability balance.
    • Incorporated processing aids for better melt flow during extrusion and molding.
    • Included optical modifiers to boost transparency and gloss.

Applications:

  • Building Materials Packaging: Used to package insulation materials and pipes, safeguarding them from damage, moisture, and contaminants in transit.
  • Fresh Produce Packaging: Suitable for making vacuum – formed trays for fresh produce, providing a stable and hygienic container to keep produce fresh.
  • Industrial Storage: Used to produce liners for large storage bins, preventing contents from sticking and facilitating easy cleaning and retrieval.
