QAPCO Lotrene Q2018C LLDPE Resin
QAPCO Lotrene Q2018C is a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) resin engineered for film applications, manufactured by QAPCO Lotrene.
Physical Properties
- Specific Gravity: Measured in line with ISO 1183, it’s 0.918 g/cc (0.918 g/cc). This density impacts the resin’s performance in various film applications, like determining its buoyancy and strength.
- Thickness: The 40.0 – micron (1.57 – mil) thickness is optimized for film uses. It provides a balance between strength to protect products and flexibility for easy handling.
- Melt Flow: Tested at 2.16 kg/190 °C as per ASTM D1238, the melt flow is 2.0 g/10 min. A higher melt flow allows for faster processing during film production.
- Antiblock Level: With an antiblock level of 0.000 ppm, it simplifies the manufacturing process in some cases, though it may increase the risk of film sticking.
- Slip Level: At 0.000 ppm, the film’s surface properties are determined solely by the base resin, which can be suitable for certain industrial applications.
Polymer Properties:
- Base Material: Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE)
- Key Features:
- Displays high clarity, ideal for applications where visual appearance is key.
- Provides good barrier against moisture and gases for product preservation.
- Ensures good sealability for secure packaging solutions.
- Offers some impact resistance for protection during handling.
Applications:
- Heavy-Duty Bags: The superior toughness of this material makes it ideal for manufacturing heavy-duty bags, such as trash bags, refuse sacks, and industrial liners.
- Stretch Film: It is widely used for producing high-quality stretch wrap and films for pallet wrapping, providing excellent holding force and load stability during transit.
- Industrial Packaging: Its durability makes it a preferred choice for various industrial packaging needs, including heavy-duty sacks, bulk packaging, and protective covers for construction materials.
- Lamination Films: Its robust mechanical properties allow it to be used as a component in co-extruded films to enhance the overall strength and durability of multi-layer packaging structures.
