Covestro Bayblend FR 3000 HI PC/ABS is a flame-retardant, halogen-free blend of polycarbonate (PC) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS).
Physical Properties
- Density: Measured per ISO 1183, density is 1.18 g/cc (0.0426 lb/in³), typical of flame-retardant PC/ABS blends.
- Water Absorption: Absorbs 0.50% water at saturation (ISO 62-like method), showing moderate resistance to humidity.
- Moisture Absorption at Equilibrium: Holds 0.20% moisture at equilibrium (ISO 62), ensuring stability in ambient conditions.
- Viscosity: At a shear rate of 1000 s⁻¹ and temperature of 260 °C (500 °F), the viscosity is 185,000 cP, based on ISO 11443-A.
- Linear Shrinkage (Flow): Flow-direction shrinkage is 0.0050–0.0070 cm/cm (ISO 2577) for 150x105x3 mm plaques.
- Linear Shrinkage (Transverse): Transverse shrinkage matches flow at 0.0050–0.0070 cm/cm (ISO 2577), reducing warpage.
