COVESTRO BAYBLEND FR 3005 HF PC/ABS Resin
Covestro Bayblend FR 3005 HF PC/ABS is a flame-retardant, halogen-free blend of polycarbonate (PC) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS).
Physical Properties
- Density: Measured at 1.18 g/cc (0.0426 lb/in³) using ISO 1183, reflecting the material’s compact molecular structure suitable for structural applications.
- Melt Density at 240 °C (464 °F): As specified, the melt density is 1.01 g/cc (0.0365 lb/in³).
- Moisture Absorption at Equilibrium: Tested per ISO 62 standard, the equilibrium moisture absorption is 0.20%.
- Water Absorption at Saturation: Determined by ISO 62 standard, the saturation water absorption is 0.50%.
- Viscosity: At 260°C (500°F), melt viscosity is 105,000 cP (shear rate 1000 s⁻¹, ISO 11443-A), balancing fluidity and process control for complex parts.
- Linear Mold Shrinkage:For 150x105x3 mm plaques at 240°C/mold temp 80°C, linear mold shrinkage is 0.0050–0.0070 cm/cm (flow/transverse, ISO 2577).
- Melt Flow: Achieves 47 g/10 min at 240 °C under a 5.00 kg load (464 °F, 11.0 lb load) per ISO 1133, indicating high melt fluidity for efficient filling of intricate mold cavities.
