COVESTRO BAYBLEND FR1514 BBS073 PC/ABS Resin
Covestro Bayblend FR1514 BBS073 PC/ABS is a flame-retardant, halogen-free blend of polycarbonate (PC) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS).
Physical Properties
- Density: Measured using injection-molded samples in accordance with ISO 1183-1, the density is 1.19 g/cc (0.0430 lb/in³).
- Moisture Absorption at Equilibrium: Determined according to ISO 62, the moisture absorption at equilibrium is 0.20 %.
- Water Absorption at Saturation: Tested for saturated samples per ISO 62, the water absorption at saturation is 0.50 %.
- Viscosity: At a frequency of 1000 Hz and temperature of 260°C, the melt viscosity is 520000 cP, as per ISO 11443-A.
- Linear Mold Shrinkage, Flow/Transverse: For a 150x105x3 mm sample at 260°C/80°C per ISO 2577, the linear mold shrinkage in flow and transverse directions is 0.0050–0.0070 cm/cm.
- Melt Flow: As per ISO 1133, at a temperature of 260°C under a load of 5.00 kg, the melt flow rate is 19.04 g/10 min.

- Modification Features:
- Flame retardant with UL 94 V-0 at 1.5 mm and high chemical resistance.
- Improved stress cracking behavior for durable applications.
- High Vicat/B 120 temperature of 136 °C and ball indentation >= 125 °C.
