Ineos TERLUX 2802 HOT Sale MABS Resin
INEOS Terlux 2802 is a standard injection molding MABS polymer grade produced by INEOS, offering balanced stiffness/toughness and high transparency.
Physical Properties
- Bulk Density: With external lubricant, the bulk density is 0.590 g/cc (0.0213 lb/in³).
- Density: Measured via ISO 1183, density is 1.08 g/cc (0.0390 lb/in³), reflecting mass-volume ratio under standard conditions.
- Water Absorption at Saturation: At 23.0°C, the saturation water absorption is 0.70 % per ISO 62, indicating moisture retention capacity when fully immersed.
- Linear Mold Shrinkage: Ranging 0.0040–0.0070 cm/cm per ISO 294-4 for injection-molded parts, this measures dimensional cooling shrinkage.
- Melt Flow: At 220°C, rates are 2.0 g/10 min (10 kg) and 17 g/10 min (21.6 kg) per ISO 1133 (volumetric), assessing injection flowability.
Polymer Properties:
- Base Material: MABS polymer
- Modification Features:
- Standard injection molding grade for general-purpose applications.
- Balanced ratio of stiffness and toughness for versatile performance.
- High transparency comparable to SAN molding compositions.
- Good chemical resistance and surface finish for aesthetic products.
Applications:
The balanced properties of TERLUX 2802 make it suitable for a wide range of applications that require a combination of clarity, toughness, and ease of molding.
- Cosmetic and High-End Packaging
- TERLUX 2802 is extensively used for cosmetic jars, lotion bottles, and other premium packaging where a glass-like appearance is desired without the brittleness or weight of glass.
- Its high transparency ensures the product inside is clearly visible, while its durability prevents breakage.
- Electronic and Electrical Housings
- The high flow rate of this grade allows for the production of complex, thin-walled parts required for modern electronic devices, such as mobile phones, tablets, and digital display enclosures.
- Its rigidity and impact strength provide robust protection for internal components.
- Medical Devices and Laboratory Equipment
- The transparency, chemical resistance, and sterilization compatibility of TERLUX 2802 make it a preferred material for disposable medical devices, petri dishes, and laboratory equipment.
- It can be sterilized using gamma radiation and ETO (ethylene oxide) methods while maintaining its physical properties and clarity.
