Celanese Zytel 135F PA66 Resin

Celanese Zytel 135F is an unreinforced, nucleated PA66 by Celanese, offering enhanced crystallinity and dimensional stability for precision applications.

Physical Properties

  • Density: Measured using injection-molded samples in accordance with ISO 1183 (DAM), the density is 1.14 g/cc (0.0412 lb/in³).
  • Melt Density: At a temperature of 290 °C (554 °F), the melt density is 1.01 g/cc (0.0365 lb/in³).
  • Water Absorption: At 2.00 mm (0.0787 in) thickness, water absorption is 8.5% (DAM; sim. to ISO 62).
  • Moisture Absorption: At 2.00 mm (0.0787 in) thickness, moisture absorption is 2.70% (DAM; sim. to ISO 62).
  • Viscosity Number: Determined with 96% sulfuric acid per ISO 307, 1157, 1628, the viscosity number is 150 cm³/g (1.50 dl/g).
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage (Flow): For injection-molded plaques, the linear mold shrinkage (flow) is 0.0070 cm/cm (0.0070 in/in) per DAM and ISO 294-4, 2577.
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage (Transverse): The transverse linear mold shrinkage is 0.013 cm/cm (0.013 in/in) per DAM and ISO 294-4, 2577.

Polymer Properties:

  • Base Material: Polyamide 66 (PA66)
  • Modification Features:
    • Nucleated to enhance crystallinity and dimensional stability.
    • Unreinforced for balanced processability and moderate mechanical strength.
    • Improves stiffness and reduces shrinkage for precision parts.

Applications:

  • Automotive: Precision gears, timing belt pulleys, and brackets with strict dimensional requirements for engine or transmission systems.
  • Industrial: Mechanical parts like bearings, bushings, and small structural components in machinery requiring high precision.
  • Electronics: Enclosures, connectors, and housings for electronic devices that demand tight tolerances and consistent quality.
