Asahi Kasei TENAC™-C 4590 is an unreinforced polyacetal (POM) copolymer resin designed for injection molding, recognized for its food-grade compliance and balanced mechanical properties.
Physical Properties
- Density: As per ISO 1183, the material’s density is 1.41 g/cm³, specifying its mass per unit volume for engineering applications.
- Shrinkage (Flow): Using an internal method, flow-direction shrinkage ranges from 1.6–2.0%, indicating variability in dimensional change during molding.
- Water Absorption : Following ASTM D570, water absorption after 24 hours at 23°C/50% RH is 0.2%, reflecting low moisture uptake in ambient conditions.
- Melt Index : According to ISO 1133, the melt index at 190°C with a 2.16 kg load is 9 g/10min, characterizing the material’s flowability during processing.
