Asahi Kasei TENAC™ 3010 HOT Sale POM Resin

Asahi Kasei TENAC™ 3010 POM is a high – performance polyoxymethylene homopolymer produced by Asahi Kasei.

Physical Properties

  • Density: Measured using injection – molded samples in accordance with ISO 1183 standard, the density is 1.42 g/cc (0.0513 lb/in³).
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage, Flow: Determined by Asahi Kasei method, the linear mold shrinkage for flow direction is 0.018 – 0.022 cm/cm (0.018 – 0.022 in/in).
  • Melt Flow: Per ISO 1133, the melt flow rate is 2.8 g/10 min (temperature and load details unspecified in original data).

Polymer Properties:

  • Base Material: Polyoxymethylene (POM)
  • Modification Features:
    • High-impact resistance for durability in shock-prone applications.
    • High elongation capability, allowing flexibility without cracking.
    • Maintains mechanical strength alongside enhanced toughness.
    • Suitable for injection molding processes.

Applications:

  1. Automotive Gears and Sliding Components
    • Justification: With a tensile strength of ~70 MPa and low coefficient of friction , TENAC™ 3010 enables silent operation and minimal wear in automotive gear trains.
    • Real-World Use: Commonly used in window regulators, wiper motor gears, and actuator housings.
    • Heat Resistance: Heat deflection temperature (HDT, ISO 75) is approx. 165°C, making it stable under engine bay conditions.
  2. Precision Electrical Connectors
    • Justification: The material exhibits high dielectric strength (~16 MV/m) and low water absorption (~0.2%), essential for maintaining insulation properties in moist environments.
    • Applications: Power connectors, terminal blocks, sensor housings, and automotive relay components.
  3. Consumer Appliance Components
    • Justification: High flexural modulus (~2,800 MPa) and impact strength (~8 kJ/m², unnotched Charpy) make it ideal for load-bearing plastic parts that experience frequent mechanical stress.
    • Examples: Used in coffee machine gears, vacuum cleaner joints, and microwave turntable couplings.
  4. Mechanical Fasteners (e.g., Snap Fits, Clips)
    • Justification: Due to its high fatigue endurance, TENAC™ 3010 can undergo over 1 million cycles in flexural fatigue testing (ASTM D671) without failure.
    • Performance: Maintains consistent clamping force over long periods, especially in high-vibration environments.
  5. Industrial Conveyor System Components
    • Justification: Its dimensional accuracy and excellent chemical resistance allow it to be used in contact with lubricants and mild acids.
    • Application Areas: Gears, sprockets, guide rails, and bearing cages in packaging and automation systems.
