- Density: As per ISO 1183 standard, the density of the material is 1.06 g/cc (0.0383 lb/in³), which represents the mass per unit volume of the compacted or solid material.
- Moisture Absorption at Equilibrium: At 23°C and 50% relative humidity (RH), in accordance with ISO 62, the moisture absorption at equilibrium is between 2.0 – 2.6 %.
- Water Absorption at Saturation: Based on ISO 62, the water absorption at saturation of the material is in the range of 6.7 – 7.7 %.
- Linear Mold Shrinkage: The linear mold shrinkage of the material is 0.0085 cm/cm (0.0085 in/in), and the measurement method is restricted.
- Melt Flow: According to ISO 1133, at a load of 5.00 kg (11.0 lb) and a temperature of 275 °C (527 °F), the melt flow rate of the material is 10.6 g/10 min.
Polymer Properties:
- Base Material: Polyamide 66 (PA66)
- Key Features and Properties:
- Enhanced chemical resistance: Ultramid A3Z’s key attribute is its excellent resistance to ethylene glycol-water mixtures, a common coolant in automotive cooling systems.
- High toughness and impact resistance: As an unreinforced PA66, A3Z exhibits excellent toughness and impact resistance.
- Good surface quality: Due to the absence of glass fibers, its surface finish is extremely smooth and high-quality.
- Good mechanical properties: Despite being unreinforced, the material exhibits a very high elongation at break of over 50%, demonstrating excellent ductility.
Applications:
- Automotive: Used for interior trim pieces, cable clips, and non – structural under – hood covers, ensuring durability and fit.
- Electronics: Applied in basic connectors, small electronic component housings, and insulation parts, meeting standard electrical requirements.
- Consumer Goods: Employed in making household item handles, toy components, and small tool parts, combining functionality and economy.
