BASF ULTRAMID A3WG5 HOT Sale PA66 Resin

BASF ULTRAMID A3WG5 is a 25% short glass fiber reinforced polyamide 66 (PA66) polymer produced by BASF (BASF SE).

Physical Properties

  • Density: The density of the material, as per ISO 1183, is 1.32 g/cc in the metric system and 0.0477 lb/in³ in the English system.
  • Water Absorption: Based on the ISO 62 standard, the water absorption rate is between 5.7 – 6.3 % in both metric and English units.
  • Moisture Absorption at Equilibrium: At 23°C and 50% relative humidity (R.H.), following the ISO 62 standard, the moisture absorption at equilibrium is in the range of 1.7 – 2.1 % in both measurement systems.
  • Viscosity Number: As determined by ISO 307, the viscosity number measures 145 cm³/g in the metric system and 1.45 dl/g, equivalent in value but different unit expression.
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage: The linear mold shrinkage is 0.0055 cm/cm in the metric system and 0.0055 in/in in the English system.
  • Melt Flow: According to ISO 1133, at a load of 5.00 kg (11.0 lb) and a temperature of 275 °C (527 °F), the melt flow rate is 66 g/10 min in both metric and English descriptions for this property.

Polymer Properties:

  • Base Material: Polyamide 66 (PA66)
  • Reinforcement: 25% Short Glass Fiber
  • Key Features and Properties:
    • Excellent stiffness and strength: 25% glass fiber reinforcement significantly increases tensile and flexural strength.
    • Excellent heat resistance: Ultramid A3WG5’s higher glass fiber content provides excellent thermal stability.
    • Excellent dimensional stability: The higher glass fiber content reduces the material’s coefficient of thermal expansion and minimizes molding shrinkage, resulting in components with excellent dimensional accuracy and stability.
    • Excellent chemical and abrasion resistance: A3WG5 exhibits good resistance to a wide range of chemicals, including fuels, oils, and greases.

Applications:

  • Automotive: Utilized for engine covers, radiator fans, air ducts, and cooling system components, benefiting from its heat resistance and mechanical stability.
  • Electronics & Electrical: Suitable for producing connectors, spools, timers, protective cover circuit breakers, and switch housings, thanks to excellent electrical insulation and dimensional accuracy.
  • Machinery & Equipment: Employed in bearings, gears, transmission parts, and structural mechanical components, leveraging its high rigidity and wear resistance for industrial applications.
  • Other Fields: Used in lamp housing, cooling fans, insulating profiles for aluminum window frames, and electrical insulation parts, valued for durability and functional versatility.
