SABIC M200024 is a Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) resin from SABIC designed for excellent processing and high-performance film applications.
Physical Properties
- Density: The density is 0.924 g/cc (0.0334 lb/in³). The test specimens are prepared from compression moulded sheet made according to ASTM D 1928 Procedure C., and it is measured according to ASTM D1505.
- ESCR 100% Igepal®: The ESCR 100% Igepal® is 6.0 hour, with F50 based on compression molded sheet, and it is measured according to ASTM D1693B.
- ESCR 10% Igepal®: The ESCR 10% Igepal® is 3.0 hour, with F50 based on compression molded sheet, and it is measured according to ASTM D1693B.
- Melt Flow: The melt flow is 20 g/10 min at a load of 2.16 kg and a temperature of 190°C (equivalent to 20 g/10 min at a load of 4.76 lb and a temperature of 374°F), and it is measured according to ASTM D1238.
Polymer Properties:
- Base Material: Linear Low – Density Polyethylene (LLDPE)
- Key Features & Characteristics:
- Superior Toughness and Puncture Resistance: Provides exceptional protection for products, minimizing the risk of damage during handling and transport.
- Excellent Heat Sealability: The narrow molecular weight distribution of mLLDPE allows for a lower sealing initiation temperature and a broad sealing window, crucial for high-speed packaging lines.
- High Clarity: Produces films with outstanding optical properties, including high gloss and low haze, ideal for high-end consumer packaging.
- Enhanced Drawdown Capability: Allows for the production of very thin, yet strong films, leading to material savings and reduced costs.
Applications:
SABIC M200024 is designed for applications requiring a combination of high strength, durability, and excellent heat seal properties. Its specific characteristics make it suitable for:
- Heavy-Duty Sacks and Bags: Its high puncture resistance and tear strength are crucial for packaging materials like sand, fertilizer, and animal feed.
- Stretch Wrap for Pallets: The resin’s excellent toughness and elongation at break allow it to form a secure, stretchable film that keeps palletized goods stable and protected.
- Laminating Films: Its strong heat-sealing capabilities make it an ideal layer in multi-layer laminates for food packaging, where a strong barrier and seal are required to maintain freshness.
- Agricultural and Greenhouse Films: The material’s durability and ability to be formulated with UV stabilizers make it an effective and long-lasting solution for protective agriculture films.
