Chi Mei Wonderlite PC- 110V Hot Sale PC Resin
Chi Mei Wonderlite PC-110V is a general-purpose polycarbonate (PC) resin manufactured by Chi Mei Corporation, known for its excellent transparency, high heat resistance, ultra-high impact resistance, and dimensional stability.
Physical Properties
- Density: The density of the material is 1.20 g/cc (0.0434 lb/in³), measured in accordance with the ISO 1183 standard.
- Melt Flow: The melt flow rate is 10 g/10 min. This value is obtained when the material is tested under a load of 1.20 kg at a temperature of 300 °C (equivalent to a load of 2.65 lb at 572 °F), and the measurement is based on the Melt Volume Rate (ml/10 min) as per the ISO 1133 standard.
Polymer Properties:
- Base Material: Polycarbonate (PC)
- Modification Features:
- Flame – retardant properties, enhancing safety in applications.
- High impact resistance, protecting against impacts.
- Good heat resistance and dimensional stability.
- Suitable for thin – walled part production.
Applications:
- Vehicle Indicator Light Casings
- Application Context: PC-110V’s high transparency and impact resistance make it ideal for vehicle indicator light casings, which require clarity for light transmission and durability to withstand environmental stress.
- 2. Electronic Device Housings (e.g., Mouse, Remote Controls)
- Application Context: PC-110V’s dimensional stability and aesthetic properties make it suitable for precision-molded electronic housings requiring both functionality and visual appeal.
- 3. Consumer Goods (e.g., Chocolate Container Boxes, High-Heel Shoes)
- Application Context: PC-110V’s clarity and impact resistance are ideal for transparent consumer goods like food containers and fashion items requiring durability and aesthetics.
Processing Recommendations
Injection Molding:
- Melt Temperature: 280–310°C to ensure good flowability (MFI ~10 g/10 min).
- Mold Temperature: 80–100°C to minimize internal stresses and achieve high clarity.
- Injection Pressure: 80–120 MPa to fill complex molds without voids.
- Drying: Dry resin at 120°C for 4 hours to remove moisture and prevent bubbles.
- Post-Processing: Anneal parts at 120°C for 2 hours to relieve residual stresses, especially for thick sections (>3 mm).
Limitations and Considerations
- UV Stability: PC-110V is not UV-stabilized (unlike PC-110U). For outdoor applications, apply UV-resistant coatings or select PC-110U instead.
- Flame Resistance: The V-2 rating may not suffice for applications requiring higher flame retardancy (e.g., V-0). Consider PC-6710 for flame-retardant needs.
- Cost: Polycarbonate is more expensive than alternatives like ABS. Ensure cost-benefit analysis justifies its use for high-performance applications.
