Covestro Makrolon 2805 is a high – performance polycarbonate (PC) from Covestro, with excellent heat and chemical resistance.

Physical Properties

  • Bulk Density: Measured for pellets per ISO 60, bulk density is 0.600 g/cc (0.0217 lb/in³), indicating packing density in granular form.
  • Density: Determined by ISO 1183-1, density is 1.20 g/cc (0.0434 lb/in³), a key parameter for mass-to-volume ratio.
  • Moisture Absorption at Equilibrium: At 50% RH per ISO 62, moisture absorption is 0.12%, ensuring stability in humid environments.
  • Water Absorption at Saturation: As per ISO 62, water absorption at saturation is 0.35%, critical for water-resistant applications.
  • Water Vapor Transmission: Per ISO 15106-1, rate is 15.0 g/m²/day (0.966 g/100 in²/day) for moisture barrier assessment.

  • Linear Mold Shrinkage, Transverse: At 500 bar (ISO 294-4), transverse shrinkage is 0.0070 cm/cm (0.0070 in/in) for molded parts.
  • Melt Flow: Per ISO 1133, melt flow rate is 10 g/10 min at 300°C (572°F) under 1.20 kg (2.65 lb) load, reflecting processability.
