Physical Properties

• Density: Measured according to ISO 1183 (JIS K7112), the density is 1.20 g/cc (0.0434 lb/in³).
• Moisture Absorption: At 50% relative humidity (RH), after 86400 seconds (24.0 hours), it is 0.230 % as per ISO 62 (JIS K7209).
• Linear Mold Shrinkage, Flow: Determined by the Idemitsu Method, it ranges from 0.0050 – 0.0070 cm/cm (0.0050 – 0.0070 in/in).
• Linear Mold Shrinkage, Transverse: Also by the Idemitsu Method, it is 0.0050 – 0.0070 cm/cm (0.0050 – 0.0070 in/in).
• Melt Flow: As per ISO 1133 (JIS K7210), it is 150 g/10 min at a load of 1.20 kg and a temperature of 300 °C (equivalent to 150 g/10 min at 2.65 lb load and 572 °F).

   • Application Details: High transparency (90% total luminous transmittance per ISO 13468-1) and low haze (0.5% at 3mm thickness per ASTM D1003) enhance display clarity and brightness.
   • Data Evidence: A refractive index of 1.585 (ASTM D542) optimizes light propagation. Dimensional stability with molding shrinkage of 0.5-0.7% (Idemitsu Method) enables precise molding of complex geometries.
2. LED Lighting Components
   TARFLON™ LC1402 is used in LED lighting for diffusion parts and optical lenses, with high flow and good color tone ensuring uniform light distribution and aesthetic appeal.
   • Application Details: Utilized for diffusion covers and lenses in residential, commercial, and automotive lighting. High light transmittance (90%) and low haze (0.5%) balance diffusion and brightness. 
3. Optical Lenses
   LC1402 is employed in optical lenses for cameras, projectors, and automotive lighting (e.g., DRLs), with optical clarity and high flow supporting precision manufacturing.
   • Application Details: Excellent optical properties (refractive index 1.585, low yellow index 0.95 YI) minimize color distortion and ensure high light transmission. 
4. Automotive Lighting (Non-Lens Applications)
   Beyond lenses, TARFLON™ LC1402 is used in automotive lighting components like light guides and diffusion covers for DRLs and ambient lighting.
   • Application Details: High transparency and light-guiding properties ensure uniform light output. 
5. Electrical and Electronic Devices
   LC1402 is used in electrical/electronic applications requiring high transparency and flame retardancy, such as display assemblies and protective covers.
   • Application Details: UL 94 V-2 flame rating and excellent electrical properties (e.g., high dielectric breakdown voltage) suit display and electronic components.
