Sabic QR6731K Random Copolymer PP Resin
SABIC QR6731K is a high – clarity, high – rigidity polypropylene (PP) random copolymer with low processing temperature, produced by SABIC.
Physical Properties
- Density: Tested per ASTM D790, the density is 0.905 g/cc (0.0327 lb/in³), representing the material’s mass per unit volume.
- Melt Flow: As per ASTM D1238, the melt flow rate is 25 g/10 min under a 2.16 kg (4.76 lb) load at 230 °C (446 °F), indicating its flowability during processing.
Polymer Properties:
- Base Material: Polypropylene (PP)
- Key Features & Characteristics:
- Exceptional Transparency and Clarity: This material offers a superior, crystal-clear appearance, which is crucial for applications where visual appeal and product visibility are key.
- Low Stress Whitening: It is specifically formulated to resist stress whitening, meaning it maintains its transparent appearance even when bent or stressed.
- High Stiffness and Heat Resistance: The material provides a good balance of rigidity and heat resistance. It can withstand elevated temperatures, making it suitable for hot-fill and microwaveable applications.
- Excellent Processability: With a medium melt flow rate, this grade is easy to process on standard thermoforming and extrusion equipment, allowing for the production of consistent, high-quality sheets and films.
Applications:
The combination of excellent transparency, low stress whitening, and good heat resistance makes SABIC QR6731K ideal for a wide range of clear, thermoformed, and extruded products.
- Food Containers and Trays: Perfect for transparent food packaging that requires a clear, glossy look and the ability to withstand heat for hot-fill or microwaveable use.
- Transparent Cups: Its clarity and resistance to stress whitening make it a great choice for clear drinking cups and lids.
- Household Goods: Suitable for clear storage boxes and other consumer products where visibility and durability are desired.
- Medical and Laboratory Equipment: Its clarity and heat resistance make it a good material for medical syringes, petri dishes, and other lab items.
