DUPONT DELRIN 500P POM Resin
DUPONT Delrin 500P is a POM by DuPont with balanced properties, good stability and resistance, for auto, electronics, and industry
Physical Properties
- Density: Measured in accordance with the ISO 1183 standard, the density of 1.42 g/cc (0.0513 lb/in³) provides basic data for volume – mass calculations in material usage.
- Melt Density: At 215 °C, the melt density of 1.19 g/cc (0.0430 lb/in³) is important for operations in the melt state and heat – related processing.
- Water Absorption: Absorbing 1.3 % at 2.00 mm thickness (Sim. to ISO 62), it may cause swelling and dimensional changes in products during use.
- Moisture Absorption: With a moisture absorption of 0.200 % at 2.00 mm thickness (Sim. to ISO 62), it impacts the electrical and mechanical properties of the material.
- Linear Mold Shrinkage: As measured by ISO 294 – 4 and 2577, it is 0.020 cm/cm in the flow direction and 0.019 cm/cm transversely, which is essential for precise mold design.
- Melt Flow: Measured by ISO 1133 at 190 °C under a 2.16 kg load, the melt flow rates are 13 g/10 min (in cm³/10 min) and 15 g/10 min, indicating good processability during molding.
