SABIC LEXAN ML3729R PC Resin
SABIC LEXAN™ ML3729R is a specialized polycarbonate (PC) resin that combines very high flowability with a mold release agent.
Physical Properties
- Specific Gravity: Tested per ASTM D792, the material’s specific gravity is 1.20 g/cc, reflecting its density relative to water.
- Density: In line with ISO 1183, the density measures 1.20 g/cc (0.0434 lb/in³), indicating consistent mass-to-volume properties.
- Water Absorption: At 23°C/saturated (ISO 62), the material absorbs 0.27%, showing moderate moisture uptake under fully saturated conditions.
- Moisture Absorption: Under 23°C/50% RH (ISO 62), the material exhibits a 0.0900% moisture absorption rate, suitable for low-humidity environments.
- Linear Mold Shrinkage:SABIC method shows 0.0050–0.0070 cm/cm (in/in) shrinkage for 3.20 mm injection-molded samples in flow and transverse directions.
- Melt Flow: ISO 1133 records 6.0 g/10 min at 250°C/1.20 kg, 36 g/10 min at 300°C; ASTM D1238 shows 39 g/10 min at 300°C under the same load.
Polymer Properties:
- Base Material: Polycarbonate (PC)
- Modification Features:
- Excellent flow property for easy processing, reducing production time.
- UV – stabilized to prevent degradation from sunlight exposure.
