SABIC LEXAN 101 is a polycarbonate (PC) produced by SABIC, known for its transparency and impact – resistant properties.
Physical Properties
- Specific Gravity: Measured in accordance with ASTM D792, the specific gravity is 1.20 g/cc (1.20 g/cc), with two consistent test results.
- Density: Determined by ASTM D792, the density is 1.19 g/cc (0.0430 lb/in³).
- Water Absorption: After 24 hours of testing per ASTM D570, the water absorption is 0.15% (0.15%).
- Moisture Absorption at Equilibrium: At equilibrium (ASTM D570), the moisture absorption is 0.35%; at 100 °C (212 °F), it is 0.58% (ASTM D570).
- Linear Mold Shrinkage, Flow: Using SABIC method for 3.20 mm (0.126 in) thickness, linear mold shrinkage is 0.0050–0.0070 cm/cm (0.0050–0.0070 in/in).
- Melt Flow: As per ASTM D1238, the melt flow rate is 7.0 g/10 min under a load of 1.20 kg (2.65 lb) at 300 °C (572 °F).
