Chevron Phillips Marlex 1122 LDPE Resin

Chevron Phillips Marlex 1122 is a low – density polyethylene (LDPE) produced by Chevron Phillips Chemical.

Physical Properties

  • Density: Measured per ASTM D1505, the density is 0.920 g/cc (0.0332 lb/in³), a key factor for lightweight material applications.
  • Water Vapor Transmission: At 0.0317 mm thickness (ASTM F1249), the rate is 15.5 g/m²/day, showing moderate moisture resistance.
  • Oxygen Transmission Rate: At 0.0317 mm thickness (ASTM D3985), the rate is 5200 cc/m²/day, suitable for general packaging needs.
  • Thickness: Tested at 31.8 microns (1.25 mil), a critical dimension for determining material performance in applications.
  • Melt Flow: As per ASTM D1238, the rate is 2.1 g/10 min at 190°C under 2.16 kg, ensuring good processability.
  • Antiblock/Slip Levels: Both at 0.000 ppm, indicating no added agents for anti-sticking or friction reduction.

Polymer Properties:

  • Base Material: Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE)
  • Modification Features:
    • Formulated for film applications with easy processing and no additive requirements.
    • Provides good contact clarity for transparent and visually appealing films.
    • Easy processing in blown film for cost-effective manufacturing.

Applications:
