INEOS Styrolution 168N Hot Sale GPPS Resin

INEOS Styrolution 168N is a high-heat resistant, high molecular weight General Purpose Polystyrene (GPPS),produced by INEOS Styrolution.

Physical Properties

  • Density: As specified by ISO 1183, the material’s density is 1.048 g/cc (0.03786 lb/in³), indicating its mass-to-volume ratio under standard conditions.
  • Moisture Absorption at Equilibrium: At 23.0 °C (73.4 °F) and 50% RH (ISO 62), equilibrium moisture absorption ≤ 0.10%, indicating low water uptake in normal humidity.
  • Water Absorption at Saturation: Tested per ISO 62 at 23.0 °C (73.4 °F), saturated water absorption ≤ 0.10%, showing low moisture susceptibility when fully submerged.
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage: Per ISO 294-4, linear mold shrinkage is 0.0030–0.0060 cm/cm (in/in), showing dimensional change in molding.
  • Melt Flow: Using ISO 1133, the melt flow rate is 1.2 g/10 min under a 5.00 kg (11.0 lb) load at 200 °C (392 °F), characterizing the material’s flowability during processing.

Polymer Properties:

  1. Base Material: General Purpose Polystyrene (GPPS)
  2. Modification Features:
    • High molecular weight, providing enhanced strength and durability for demanding applications.
    • High heat resistance, allowing it to maintain its properties under elevated temperature conditions.

Applications:

Based on its properties and common usage, INEOS Styrolution 168N is a solid choice for the following applications from your list:

  • Corrugated sheets: The high mechanical strength and good processability for extrusion make it suitable for producing rigid sheets used in various packaging and display applications.
  • Food containers & Food trays: The material is often used for physically or chemically foamed extruded sheets, which are then thermoformed into lightweight trays for food, such as meat and fruit.
  • Packaging film & Plastic films: Its properties are suitable for producing biaxially oriented polystyrene (BOPS) sheets, which are used as clear film for packaging.
  • Transparent containers: When blended with other polymers, it can be used for transparent, impact-resistant cups and beakers.
  • CD cases & CD jewel cases: The high transparency and rigidity are well-suited for these applications.
  • Disposable cutlery: Its mechanical strength and low cost make it a suitable material for disposable utensils.
  • Refrigerator internal shelves & Interior refrigerator drawers: The rigidity and transparency are desirable for these internal refrigerator components.
