Asahi Kasei TENAC™ 3510 HOT Sale POM Resin

Asahi Kasei TENAC™-C 3510 is a high – viscosity, high – impact – resistant, high – elongation polyoxymethylene (POM) copolymer produced by Asahi Kasei.

Physical Properties

  • Density: Tested per ISO 1183, the density is 1.41 g/cc (0.0509 lb/in³), showing a compact molecular structure.
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage, Flow: By Asahi Kasei method, shrinkage is 0.016–0.020 cm/cm, indicating moderate dimensional change in flow direction.
  • Melt Flow: As per ISO 1133, the melt flow rate is 2.8 g/10 min, reflecting good processability under standard conditions.

Polymer Properties:

  • Base Material:Polyoxymethylene (POM) copolymer
  • Modification Features:
    • High-impact resistance and elongation for shock-absorbing applications.
    • Increased molecular weight enhances mechanical durability and toughness.
    • Maintains processability in injection molding despite higher molecular weight.
    • Balances flexibility with structural strength for demanding uses.

Applications:

  1. Automotive Industry:
TENAC™ 3510 is widely used in automotive applications due to its ability to withstand impacts, vibrations, and chemical exposure while maintaining dimensional accuracy. Specific uses include:
    • Interior Components: Seatbelt buckles and buttons, requiring impact resistance, low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, and weather resistance to ensure safety and comfort.
    • Under-Hood Parts: Fuel system components, such as pump gears and valve parts, benefit from chemical resistance to fuels and oils, as well as creep resistance for long-term reliability.
    • Sliding Parts: Door rollers and window regulator gears, leveraging low-friction properties for smooth operation and durability under constant load.
    • Exterior Trims: Bumpers and trim parts, where high elongation prevents cracking under impact or thermal expansion.
  2. Industrial Applications:
The resin’s fatigue resistance and self-lubricating nature make it ideal for industrial components subjected to continuous or repetitive stress. Key applications include:
    • Gears and Bearings: Used in machinery for precision gears and conductive bearings, offering high stiffness, durability, and low wear.
    • Conveyor System Components: Rollers, cams, and arms in conveyor systems benefit from low friction and wear resistance, reducing maintenance needs.
    • Mechanical Linkages: High-impact resistance and elongation support linkages and couplings in heavy-duty equipment, preventing failure under dynamic loads.
  3. Medical Devices (Non-Implantable):
While TENAC™ 3510 is not suitable for implantation or direct contact with body fluids, it is used in medical device components requiring mechanical reliability and moldability. Applications include:
    • Infusion Pump Guides: High friction and abrasion resistance ensure stable performance in components that interact with medical tubing.
    • Lancets for Blood Sampling: Good moldability and spring characteristics support precise, reliable operation in small medical devices like glucose meters.
    • Mechanical Parts in Inhalers: Gears and valve parts in asthma inhalers, benefiting from creep resistance and dimensional stability for consistent dosing.
  4. Consumer Goods:
TENAC™ 3510’s durability and ease of molding make it suitable for high-performance consumer products. Examples include:
    • Appliance Components: Gears and bearings in household appliances, such as washing machines and printers, where low wear and noise are critical.
    • Sporting Equipment: Structural parts in equipment like ski bindings or fishing reels, leveraging impact resistance and flexibility.
    • Furniture Hardware: Sliding mechanisms in drawers and cabinets, utilizing low-friction properties for smooth operation and long-term durability.
  5. Electrical and Electronics:
The resin’s dimensional stability and chemical resistance support its use in electrical applications, such as:
    • Connectors and Housings: Precision-molded connectors in electronic devices, maintaining tight tolerances and resisting environmental degradation.
    • Motor Gears: Gears in small motors for automotive or industrial applications, offering durability and low noise during operation.
