Physical Properties

  • Density: It shows a density of 1.37 g/cc (0.0495 lb/in³), measured according to ISO 1183 in the DAM condition.
  • Water Absorption: At a thickness of 2.00 mm, the water absorption is 6.0 %, measured in the DAM condition using a method similar to ISO 62.
  • Moisture Absorption: With a 2.00 – mm thickness, the moisture absorption is 1.90 %, measured in the DAM condition following a method similar to ISO 62.
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage, Flow: The linear mold shrinkage in the flow direction is 0.0030 cm/cm (0.0030 in/in), measured in the DAM condition in accordance with ISO 294 – 4 and 2577.
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage, Transverse: In the transverse direction, the linear mold shrinkage is 0.011 cm/cm (0.011 in/in), measured in the DAM condition following ISO 294 – 4 and 2577.

Polymer Properties:

  1. Base Material: Polyamide 66 (PA66)
  2. Reinforcement: 30%  Glass Fiber
  3. Key Features and Properties:
    • High Mechanical Strength and Stiffness: 30% glass fiber reinforcement provides excellent mechanical properties.
    • Excellent Thermal and Hydrolytic Stability: The “HSL” designation indicates that the material is designed for long-term use at elevated temperatures.
    • Excellent Dimensional Stability: The high glass fiber content minimizes molding shrinkage and warpage, resulting in parts with excellent dimensional accuracy.
    • Chemical Resistance: Zytel 70G30HSL offers excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals(eg: oils, fuels, and greases).
    • Good Processability: Excellent flowability enables efficient molding of complex geometries while maintaining a smooth surface finish.

Applications:

  1. Automotive Industry:Utilized for engine mounts and transmission gears. Its heat resistance and strength endure under – hood heat and mechanical stress, while its stability ensures smooth power transfer.
  2. Electronics and Electrical Industry:Applied in electrical connectors for its insulation and mechanical strength, and in heat – resistant components like power electronics housings due to its high heat deflection temperature.
  3. Industrial Equipment:Used to make mechanical parts such as pulleys and bushings for high – load applications, and pump/valve components for its chemical resistance in fluid – handling systems.
