Celanese Zytel 70G35HSLRA4 PA66 Resin
Celanese Zytel 70G35HSLRA4 PA66 is a 35% glass fiber reinforced, heat-stabilized, and hydrolysis-resistant polyamide 66 resin for injection molding.
Physical Properties
- Density: Measured using injection-molded samples in accordance with DAM and ISO 1183, the density is 1.41 g/cc (0.0509 lb/in³).
- Melt Density: At a temperature of 295 °C (563 °F), the melt density is 1.27 g/cc (0.0459 lb/in³).
- Water Absorption: After 24h immersion (DAM, sim. ISO 62), water absorption is 1.1%; at 2.00 mm thickness (same standards), it’s 5.5%.
- Moisture Absorption: At 2.00 mm (0.0787 in) thickness, moisture absorption is 1.70% (DAM; sim. to ISO 62).
- Viscosity Number: Per ISO 307/1157/1628, viscosity number is 110 cm³/g (1.10 dl/g) with 90% formic acid and 125 cm³/g (1.25 dl/g) with 96% sulfuric acid.
- Linear Mold Shrinkage: Per DAM/ISO 294-4/2577, injection-molded plaques have 0.0040 cm/cm (flow) and 0.011 cm/cm (transverse) linear mold shrinkage.
Polymer Properties:
- Base Material: Polyamide 66 (PA66)
- Reinforcement: 35% Glass Fiber
- Modification Features:
- 35% glass fiber reinforcement for high mechanical performance.
- Heat-stabilized and hydrolysis-resistant for wet or high-temperature conditions.
- Offers durability in harsh environments with moisture or chemical exposure.
Applications:
The hydrolysis resistance of this grade makes it particularly suitable for demanding applications where the material may be exposed to water or coolant over an extended period.
Confirmed applications include:
- Automotive:
- Especially for “under-the-hood” components where parts are exposed to high temperatures, engine coolants, and other automotive fluids.
- This includes general under-bonnet parts.
- General Demanding Applications:
- It is also used in demanding applications within the furniture, domestic appliances, sporting goods, and construction industries that require a balance of high mechanical strength and resistance to heat and moisture.
