Applications:
These applications align with Zytel® 73G30HSL’s high stiffness, strength, and thermal stability, suitable for injection molding or potential 3D printing:
- Appliance Housings:
- Product: Motor housings for blenders or washing machine components.
- Why Suitable: High stiffness (tensile modulus ~9,000 MPa) and thermal stability (HDT ~200°C) ensure durability under mechanical and thermal stress. Chemical resistance suits exposure to household cleaners.
- Processing: Injection molding for mass production; 3D printing feasible for prototyping custom housings with industrial printers.
- Automotive Battery Cases:
- Product: Structural battery tray supports for electric vehicles.
- Why Suitable: High strength (~140–150 MPa) and chemical resistance to electrolytes ensure reliability. Heat stabilization supports under-hood conditions (~120°C).
- Processing: Injection molding for precise, high-volume parts; 3D printing possible for prototype supports.
- Automotive Instrument Panels:
- Product: Structural frames or mounting brackets for dashboard assemblies.
- Why Suitable: High stiffness and dimensional stability ensure precise fitment. Heat resistance suits interior thermal loads (~80–100°C).
- Processing: Injection molding; 3D printing viable for custom brackets.
- Automotive Interior Parts:
- Product: Seat belt anchor brackets, dashboard structural supports.
- Why Suitable: Stiffness and strength support structural integrity in dynamic environments. Good surface finish (lubricated grades like BK416) allows painted or unpainted use.
- Processing: Injection molding; 3D printing for prototyping.
- Automotive Radiator Tanks:
- Product: Radiator end tanks for compact vehicles.
- Why Suitable: Thermal stability (HDT ~200°C) and chemical resistance to coolants ensure longevity in high-heat, corrosive environments.
- Processing: Injection molding; 3D printing possible for low-volume or custom tanks.
- Automotive Trim Panels:
- Product: Structural bases for interior door trim panels.
- Why Suitable: High stiffness and surface finish (e.g., BK416 for gloss) support aesthetic and structural requirements. Impact resistance (~10–12 kJ/m²) handles dynamic loads.
- Processing: Injection molding; 3D printing for prototype bases.
