  • Melt Density: At a temperature of 270°C (518°F), the melt density is 1.19 g/cc (0.0430 lb/in³).
  • Water Absorption: Under conditions simulating ISO 62 standards, the water absorption for a 2.00 mm thick specimen is 6.2%.
  • Moisture Absorption: Under conditions simulating ISO 62 standards, the moisture absorption for a 2.00 mm thick specimen is 2.00%.
  • Viscosity Number: Measured in accordance with ISO 307, the viscosity number is 150 cm³/g (1.50 dl/g).
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage (Flow): Injection-molded specimens show 0.0020 cm/cm (0.0020 in/in) flow-direction linear mold shrinkage per ISO 294-4.
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage (Transverse): Injection-molded specimens exhibit 0.010 cm/cm (0.010 in/in) transverse linear mold shrinkage per ISO 294-4.

Polymer Properties:

  • Base Material: Polyamide 6 (PA6)
  • Reinforcement: 30% Glass Fiber
  • Modification Features:
    • 30% glass fiber reinforcement enhances structural strength and modulus.
    • Toughened with impact modifiers for improved resistance to sudden loading.
    • Balanced flowability for complex injection-molded parts with thin walls.

Applications:

  • Automotive Components
    • Under-the-Hood Parts: Used in engine covers, air intake manifolds, and throttle valve bodies due to its heat resistance and mechanical strength. For example, it can be found in air intake manifolds for compact vehicles, where it withstands vibration and thermal cycling.
    • Structural Brackets and Housings: Applied in mounting brackets for sensors or actuators, such as those in steering systems or brake assemblies, where high stiffness  and toughness are critical.
    • Interior and Exterior Trim: Utilized in door handle bases or mirror housings, benefiting from its impact resistance and surface finish quality for painted or unpainted parts.
  • Electrical and Electronics
    • Connector Housings: Used in automotive and industrial electrical connectors, such as multi-pin connectors for wiring harnesses, due to its dimensional stability and resistance to creep under load.
    • Circuit Breaker Components: Applied in insulating housings for low-voltage circuit breakers, leveraging its electrical insulation properties and UL Yellow Card certification .
    • Sensor Encasements: Employed in sensor housings for automotive or industrial applications, such as wheel speed sensors, where it protects against environmental stresses like moisture and vibration.
  • Consumer Goods
    • Power Tool Components: Used in gear housings or trigger assemblies for cordless drills and saws, where its toughness and stiffness support durability under mechanical stress.
    • Sporting Equipment: Applied in structural parts of inline skates, such as grind plates, due to its abrasion resistance and lightweight properties.
    • Appliance Housings: Found in vacuum cleaner or blender motor mounts, where it provides vibration dampening and resistance to household chemicals.
