BASF ULTRAMID A3K HOT Sale PA66 Resin

BASF ULTRAMID A3K is a polyamide 66 (PA66) polymer produced by BASF, offering a good balance of mechanical properties.

Physical Properties

  • Density: Measured in accordance with ISO 1183, the density of the material is 1.13 g/cc (0.0408 lb/in³). This value provides an indication of the mass per unit volume of the substance.
  • Water Absorption: As per ISO 62, the water absorption of the material ranges from 8.0 – 9.0 %. This property shows how much water the material can absorb when immersed in water.
  • Moisture Absorption at Equilibrium: At 23°C and 50% relative humidity (R.H.) as specified by ISO 62, the moisture absorption at equilibrium is between 2.5 – 3.1 %.
  • Viscosity Number: According to ISO 307, the viscosity number of the material is 150 cm³/g (1.50 dl/g).
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage: The linear mold shrinkage of the material is 0.0085 cm/cm (0.0085 in/in).
  • Melt Flow: As determined by ISO 1133, at a load of 5.00 kg (11.0 lb) and a temperature of 275 °C (527 °F), the melt flow rate is 115 g/10 min.

Polymer Properties:

  • Base Material: Polyamide 66 (PA66)
  • Key Properties and Benefits
    • High Toughness and Impact Resistance: A3K has a high degree of toughness, making it more flexible and resistant to impact than its glass-filled counterparts.
    • Good Mechanical Strength: While not as strong or stiff as glass-reinforced grades, it still offers good tensile strength and rigidity for a wide range of applications.
    • Excellent Abrasion and Wear Resistance: PA66 is known for its low coefficient of friction and excellent wear resistance, making it suitable for moving parts.
    • Good Chemical Resistance: It offers good resistance to many chemicals, including oils, greases, and solvents.
    • Excellent Processability: Its standard viscosity allows for easy molding of complex parts with good surface finish.

Applications:

  • Automotive: Used for producing thin – walled interior components like door trims, dashboard parts, and air vents for a lightweight design.
  • Electronics: Applied in making small connectors, thin – walled enclosures for electronic devices, and insulative parts with quick production cycles.
  • Consumer Goods: Employed in manufacturing household items such as small appliance casings, pen bodies, and toy components, balancing cost and performance.
