BASF ULTRAMID A3WG7 HOT Sale PA66 Resin

BASF Ultramid A3WG7 PA66 is High-performance PA66 with 35% glass fiber reinforcement, designed for max mechanical strength, stiffness, and dimensional stability.

Physical Properties

  • Density: As per ISO 1183, the material has a density of 1.41 g/cc (0.0509 lb/in³), defining its mass – per – volume ratio.
  • Water Absorption: In line with ISO 62, it absorbs 4.7 – 5.3% water, indicating its hygroscopic tendency in wet conditions.
  • Moisture Absorption at Equilibrium: At 23°C and 50% relative humidity (R.H.) following ISO 62, it’s 1.4 – 1.8%, showing stable moisture uptake.
  • Viscosity Number: According to ISO 307, it’s 145 cm³/g (1.45 dl/g), relating to the material’s internal friction in solution.
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage: Measuring 0.0050 cm/cm (0.0050 in/in), it’s crucial for predicting size changes during molding.
  • Melt Flow: Per ISO 1133, at 275 °C (527 °F) under 5.00 kg (11.0 lb) load, it’s 49.3 g/10 min, reflecting melt fluidity for processing.

Polymer Properties:

  1. Base Material: Polyamide 66 (PA66)
  2. Reinforcement: 35% Short Glass Fiber
  3. Modification Features:
    • High strength and rigidity provided by glass fiber reinforcement.
    • Excellent heat resistance, maintaining properties at elevated temperatures.
    • Good dimensional stability for complex part designs.
    • Suitable for injection molding with good flow characteristics.

Applications:

  1. Automotive Industry: Ultramid A3WG7 is ideal for high-stress structural and under-the-hood parts, a lightweight, cost-effective metal alternative.
    • Engine and Transmission Brackets:Exceptional rigidity/strength makes it ideal for supporting heavy engine/transmission assemblies, replacing die-cast Al/steel brackets.
    • Structural Chassis Parts: For suspension mounts or cross-car beams, its 180 MPa tensile strength withstands significant impact and static loads.
    • Engine Cooling System Components: Superior heat/chemical resistance for thermostat housings, water pump impellers in high-temp, aggressive coolant environments.
  2. Industrial and Mechanical Engineering:This grade is used in heavy-duty applications where parts must withstand extreme mechanical and thermal stress.
    • High-Load Bearings and Cams: Ultramid A3WG7’s high strength and wear resistance make it ideal for high-load, high-friction parts like precision gears and cams.
    • Machine Housings and Structural Components: Uses robust properties to make durable, rigid housings, roller cages, and load-bearing structural parts for long service life.
  3. Electrical and Electronics Industry
    • High-Voltage Switchgear and Busbar Supports: Combines electrical insulation, mechanical strength, and thermal resistance for robust high-power components (safety/reliability critical).
