Ineos ABSOLAC 320 ABS Resin
INEOS ABSOLAC 320 is an easy-flow, standard impact ABS polymer for refrigerant injection molding, made by INEOS Styrolution.
Physical Properties
- Density: Measured using injection-molded samples in accordance with ISO 1183 standards, the density is 1.04 g/cc (0.0376 lb/in³).
- Linear Mold Shrinkage: For injection-molded plaques, the linear mold shrinkage is 0.0040–0.0060 cm/cm (0.0040–0.0060 in/in) as per ISO 294-4.
- Melt Flow: As per ISO 1133 standards (volumetric method), at a temperature of 220°C (428°F) under a load of 10.0 kg (22.0 lb), the melt flow rate is 16 g/10 min.
Polymer Properties:
- Base Material: Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS)
- Modification Features:
- Easy-flow formulation for refrigerant injection molding in appliance manufacturing.
- Standard impact resistance with chemical resistance to household cleaners and detergents.
- Balanced mechanical properties for reliable performance in refrigerator and washing machine parts.
Applications:
Given its combination of chemical resistance and balanced mechanical properties, ABSOLAC® 320 is predominantly used in the appliance industry.
- Refrigerator and Deep Freezer Parts:
- The primary application for this grade is in refrigeration. It’s used for refrigerator door liners, internal drawers, and shelves.
- The chemical resistance is vital here to prevent the plastic from being damaged by food, spills, or cleaning products. Its good flow also allows for the efficient molding of large, single-piece liners.
- Washing Machine Parts:
- ABSOLAC® 320 is also used for components within washing machines and other large home appliances where durability and resistance to water and detergents are necessary.
- Water Purifiers:
- The material’s good chemical resistance makes it suitable for the housing and other components of water purifiers, ensuring the plastic does not react with the water or purification agents.
