BASF ULTRAMID B3G8 HOT Sale PA6 Resin

BASF ULTRAMID B3G8 is a 40% short glass fiber – reinforced polyamide 6 (PA6) polymer produced by BASF, suitable for heavy – duty applications.

Physical Properties

  • Density: Determined by ISO 1183, the density is 1.43 g/cc (0.0517 lb/in³), due to its high glass filling.
  • Water Absorption: According to ISO 62, the water absorption is 5.4 – 6.0 %, which may change dimensions and properties over time.
  • Moisture Absorption at Equilibrium: Under 23°C/50% R.H. and ISO 62, the moisture absorption at equilibrium is 1.6 – 2.0 %, affecting electrical properties.
  • Viscosity Number: Measured by ISO 307, the viscosity number is 140 cm³/g (1.40 dl/g), influencing flow during processing.
  • Melt Flow: According to ISO 1133, at 5.00 kg load and 275 °C, the melt flow is 78.65 g/10 min, facilitating part production.

Polymer Properties:

  1. Base Material: Polyamide 6 (PA6)
  2. Reinforcement: 40% short glass fiber
  3. Modification Features:
    • Extremely high mechanical strength and rigidity, making it suitable for heavy – duty applications.
    • High heat resistance and low thermal expansion.
    • Good resistance to abrasion and wear.
    • Can be injection – molded into large, complex parts.

Applications:

The significant glass fiber content makes ULTRAMID B3G8 an ideal material for replacing metal in various structural and load-bearing components.

  • Automotive Structural Components
    • Due to its excellent strength-to-weight ratio and exceptional heat resistance, B3G8 is widely used in critical automotive parts. This includes structural brackets, engine mounts, intake manifolds, and chassis components.
    • Its ability to withstand high temperatures and mechanical stress makes it a reliable alternative to metal castings and stampings.
  • Industrial and Mechanical Engineering Parts
    • The superior stiffness and creep resistance of B3G8 make it perfect for demanding industrial parts.
    • It is used in power tool casings, gear wheels, bearing housings, and various machine parts that are subjected to constant stress and require long-term dimensional stability.
  • Electrical and Electronic Components
    • In the electrical sector, B3G8 is used for heavy-duty connectors, terminal blocks, and other parts requiring a combination of high mechanical strength, thermal stability, and good electrical insulation.
