Physical Properties

• Density: Measured following ISO 1183, the density is 0.958 g/cc (0.0346 lb/in³), determining its suitability for blow – molding.
• ESCR 10% Igepal®: Tested by ASTM D1693, it is >= 100 hours, showing good environmental stress crack resistance.
• Melt Flow: Measured at 2.16 kg and 190 °C by ISO 1133, it is 0.40 g/10 min, and 1.8 g/10 min at 5.00 kg, affecting blow – molding quality.
• High Load Melt Index: Measured at 21.6 kg and 190 °C by ISO 1133, it is 28 g/10 min, important for processing efficiency in blow – molding.

Applications:

Given its balanced properties, especially its high ESCR, Borouge BB2581 is the preferred material for producing a variety of blow-molded containers and bottles.

1. Household and Industrial Chemicals: The primary application is for detergent bottles, bleach containers, and bottles for other household cleaners. 
2. Personal Care Products: It is also used for shampoo bottles, cosmetic containers, and liquid soap bottles, where its good stiffness and impact resistance ensure a durable and aesthetically pleasing product.
3. Food Packaging: The material’s food contact compliance makes it suitable for bottles for milk, juice, and other beverages that require a durable, opaque container.
4. Oil and Lubricant Bottles: Its chemical resistance extends to hydrocarbons, making it a reliable choice for packaging automotive oils and lubricants.
