COVESTRO BAYBLEND ET3032 FR PC ABS Resin

Covestro Bayblend ET3032 FR PC+ABS is a flame-retardant, halogen-free blend of polycarbonate (PC) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS).

Physical Properties

  • Density: Measured using injection-molded samples in accordance with ISO 1183-1, the density is 1.30 g/cc (0.0470 lb/in³).
  • Moisture Absorption at Equilibrium: Determined at 50% RH according to ISO 62, the moisture absorption at equilibrium is 0.20 %.
  • Water Absorption at Saturation: Tested for saturated samples per ISO 62, the water absorption at saturation is 0.50 %.
  • Viscosity: At a shear rate of 1000 1/s and temperature of 260°C, the melt viscosity is 380000 cP, as per ISO 11443-A.
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage, Flow/Transverse: For a 3.00 mm thickness sample per ISO 2577, the linear mold shrinkage in flow and transverse directions is 0.0040–0.0050 cm/cm.
  • Melt Flow: As per ISO 1133, at a temperature of 260°C under a load of 5.00 kg, the melt flow rate is 13 g/10 min.

Polymer Properties:

  • Base Material: Polycarbonate (PC) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS)
  • Reinforcement: 10% mineral filled
  • Modification Features:
    • Rubber modified for flexibility and impact resistance.
    • 10% mineral fill for dimensional stability and extrusion compatibility.
    • Flame retardant with UL 94 V-0 at 0.75 mm and GWFI 960 °C.
