KEP Kepital F40-03 HOT Sale POM Resin

KEPITAL F40-03 is an extremely low-viscosity polyoxymethylene (POM) copolymer grade designed for general injection molding, particularly suited for thin-walled precision parts and multi-cavity molds.

Physical Properties

  • Density: As per ISO 1183, the material’s density is 1.41 g/cc (0.0509 lb/in³), specifying its mass per unit volume for engineering use.
  • Water Absorption: Following ISO 62, the material shows 0.20% water absorption, indicating low moisture uptake under standard conditions.
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage, Flow: At 3 mm thickness, flow-direction shrinkage is 0.020 cm/cm (0.020 in/in), crucial for maintaining dimensional precision in molding.
  • Melt Flow: Under a 2.16 kg (4.76 lb) load at 190 °C (374 °F), the melt flow rate is 52 g/10 min per ISO 1133, reflecting high processability during manufacturing.

Polymer Properties:

  • Base Material: Polyoxymethylene (POM)
  • Modification Features:
    • Extremely high flowability for seamless injection molding of thin-walled parts.
    • Optimized for precision components requiring intricate details and tight tolerances.
    • Maintains dimensional stability even in complex, thin-walled geometries.
    • Balanced mechanical properties ensure durability in lightweight designs.

Applications:

  • Automotive Components:
KEPITAL® F40-03 is widely used in automotive applications due to its high flowability, low shrinkage, and mechanical strength. Its low viscosity allows for the production of intricate, thin-walled parts with tight tolerances, such as:
    • Gears and Bearings: The material’s low friction and high wear resistance make it ideal for small gears and bearings in automotive systems like window regulators and seat adjusters.
    • Clips and Fasteners: The high flowability (MFR) and low molding shrinkage (2–3.5%) enable the production of precise, thin-walled clips and fasteners used in interior and exterior assemblies.
    • Fuel System Components: Its chemical resistance to fuels and alkalis makes it suitable for parts like fuel pump housings and connectors, where dimensional stability (low water absorption of 0.2–0.5%) is critical.
  • Consumer Electronics:
The material’s excellent flowability and dimensional stability make it ideal for small, intricate components in consumer electronics:
    • Connectors and Housings: KEPITAL® F40-03 is used for micro-connectors and thin-walled housings in devices like smartphones and laptops.
    • Switches and Buttons: The material’s high stiffness (tensile modulus) and surface finish quality support the production of durable, tactile buttons and switches.
    • Zipper Components: Its wear resistance and smooth surface properties make it suitable for precision zipper mechanisms in electronic device cases.
  • Medical and Healthcare Devices:
KEPITAL® F40-03 is used in medical applications due to its chemical resistance, low moisture absorption, and compliance with regulatory standards:
    • Medical Device Components: Its low viscosity is ideal for molding thin-walled parts like syringe components and surgical tool handles.
    • Diagnostic Equipment Parts: The low coefficient of linear thermal expansion ensures dimensional stability in precision parts used in diagnostic devices, even under varying temperatures.
  • Industrial Applications:
The material’s mechanical strength and thermal stability make it suitable for industrial components:
    • Precision Mechanical Parts: KEPITAL® F40-03 is used for small, high-precision parts like pump impellers and valve components, where its high flowability and low shrinkage ensure tight tolerances.
    • Conveyor System Components: Its wear resistance and low friction properties are ideal for rollers and guides in conveyor systems.
    • Fluid Handling Systems: The material’s chemical resistance to alkalis and low water absorption make it suitable for pipe fittings and fluid connectors.
  • Home Appliances:
KEPITAL® F40-03 is used in home appliances for components requiring durability and aesthetic quality:
    • Washing Machine Parts: Its chemical resistance and low water absorption make it suitable for parts like detergent dispensers and pump components.
    • Kitchen Appliance Components: The material’s high flowability enables the production of thin-walled, precise parts like blender gears and food processor components.
    • Zipper Mechanisms: Its wear resistance and smooth surface finish are ideal for zippers in appliance covers.
