SABIC LEXAN HP1HF PC Resin
SABIC’s LEXAN™ HP1HF is a high-purity, high-flow polycarbonate (PC) resin specifically designed for medical and healthcare applications.
Physical Properties
- Specific Gravity: Tested in accordance with ASTM D792, the specific gravity of the material is 1.18 g/cc, providing a key indicator of its density characteristics.
- Density: As per ISO 1183, the material’s density measures 1.19 g/cc (0.0430 lb/in³), reflecting its mass – volume relationship accurately.
- Water Absorption: At 23°C in a saturated condition following ISO 62, the water absorption of the material is determined to be 0.27 %.
- Moisture Absorption: Under 23°C and 50% RH as per ISO 62, the material shows a moisture absorption rate of 0.0900 %.
- Linear Mold Shrinkage, Flow: Using the SABIC method for 3.20 mm (0.126 in) thickness, the flow-direction shrinkage ranges from 0.0050–0.0070 cm/cm (0.0050–0.0070 in/in).
- Melt Flow: Per ISO 1133, the melt flow rate is 36 g/10 min at 300°C (572°F) under 1.20 kg (2.65 lb); ASTM D1238 records 39 g/10 min under the same conditions.
