Formosa TAIRILAC HP9450 Hot Sale HIPS Resin

Formosa TAIRILAC HP9450 HOT SALE HIPS POLYMER is a high – impact polystyrene (HIPS) polymer produced by Formosa.

Physical Properties

  • Density: Measured per ASTM D792 at 23°C, the density is 1.04 g/cm³ (0.0376 lb/in³), reflecting the material’s mass-to-volume ratio under standard conditions.
  • Melt Index: In line with ASTM D1238, the melt flow rate at 200°C under a 5 kg load (11.02 lb) is 3 g/10 min, indicating processability during extrusion or molding.
  • Monomer Content: The residual monomer content is 700 ppm, a critical parameter for assessing safety, chemical resistance, and suitability for regulated applications.

Polymer Properties:

  • Base Material: High – Impact Polystyrene (HIPS)
  • Modification Features:
    • High tensile strength for robust structural integrity under stress.
    • High heat distortion temperature to withstand elevated temperatures without deforming.
    • Odorless and low monomer residue for safety and non – offensive use.
    • HB flammability rating for basic fire resistance.

Applications:

  • Bobbins: Used in manufacturing bobbins, leveraging tensile strength to hold winding materials securely.
  • Packaging: Ideal for packaging applications, with heat resistance protecting contents from temperature effects and low monomer residue ensuring safety.
  • Extruded Sheets: Produces extruded sheets, taking advantage of processability via extrusion and heat stability for various end – uses.
  • Flotation Devices: Applied in flotation devices, where impact resistance and buoyancy properties contribute to functionality.
