SABIC M200056 HDPE Unimodal Resin
SABIC M200056 is a unimodal high density polyethylene (HDPE) resin with a very high melt flow rate designed for high speed injection molding.
Physical Properties
- Density: Measured by ASTM D1505, it is 0.956 g/cc. This density value influences the material’s flow and dimensional stability in injection – molding.
- ESCR 100% Igepal®: Based on compression – molded sheet, tested by ASTM D1693B with F50, it’s 3.0 hours, showing its stress – crack resistance in a 100% Igepal® solution.
- ESCR 10% Igepal®: Tested by F50; ASTM D1693B, it’s 2.0 hours, providing more data on its performance in a 10% Igepal® solution.
- Melt Flow: Measured by ASTM D1238 at 20 g/10 min @Load 2.16 kg, 190 °C. It indicates good flow properties for injection – molding.
Polymer Properties:
- Base Material: High Density Polyethylene (HDPE).
- Key Features:
- Exceptional Flowability: This grade has a very high Melt Flow Rate (MFR)
- High Rigidity: Despite its high flow, the resin maintains high stiffness, with a Flexural Modulus of approximately 1550 MPa (ISO 178).
- Good Impact Resistance: The material also provides a good balance of rigidity and toughness.
Applications:
- Thin-Wall Containers: The combination of high flow and stiffness is ideal for thin-wall injection molding.
- It is used for producing food containers, lids, and packaging where a lightweight, rigid, and cost-effective design is required.
- Household Goods: The material is well-suited for various household articles that need both rigidity and efficient production.
- Its properties allow for the creation of durable items like buckets, storage bins, and large houseware items with a consistent and high-quality finish.
- Bottle Crates: The high rigidity and flowability make M200056 an ideal material for large injection-molded crates, such as those used for bottles.
- The resin’s ability to fill large molds quickly is crucial for the efficient production of these items.
