BASF Ultraform N2720 M63 POM Resin

BASF Ultraform N2720 M63 (also referred to as N2720 M63 AT) is a 30% mineral-reinforced polyoxymethylene (POM) copolymer.

Physical Properties

  • Bulk Density: Ranges 0.650–0.900 g/cc (0.0235–0.0325 lb/in³), showing variable loose packing for flexible material handling and storage.
  • Density: Tested per ISO 1183, density is 1.65 g/cc (0.0596 lb/in³), indicating a high-mass structure for robust mechanical applications.
  • Moisture Absorption at Equilibrium: At 23°C/50% RH (ISO 62), it’s 0.15%, ensuring minimal dimensional change from ambient humidity.
  • Water Absorption at Saturation: Per ISO 62, saturation absorption is 0.90%, showing moderate moisture tolerance for occasional wet environments.
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage, Flow: By ISO 2577, flow shrinkage is 0.012 cm/cm (0.012 in/in), reflecting low contraction along the material flow path.
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage, Transverse: Per ISO 2577, transverse shrinkage is 0.015 cm/cm (0.015 in/in), with higher contraction perpendicular to flow.
  • Melt Flow: As per ISO 1133 at 190°C/2.16 kg, the rate is 6.27 g/10 min, balancing processability and melt consistency.
