Processing Recommendations
Drying
POLYLAC® PA-707 is a hygroscopic material and must be dried prior to processing to prevent surface defects and degradation of mechanical properties.
- Drying Temperature: 80 - 85°C (176 - 185°F)
- Drying Time: 2 - 4 hours in a desiccant dryer.
- Recommended Moisture Content: < 0.1%
Injection Molding Parameters
| Parameter | Recommended Range |
|---|---|
| Melt Temperature | 200 - 240°C (392 - 464°F) |
| Mold Temperature | 40 - 70°C (104 - 158°F) |
| Injection Pressure | 70 - 120 MPa |
| Back Pressure | 5 - 10 MPa |
| Screw Speed | 40 - 70 rpm |
General Processing Notes
- Higher mold temperatures will improve the surface gloss and weld line strength but may increase cycle times.
- Ensure adequate venting of the mold to prevent gas traps and burn marks.
- A purged barrel with a suitable material (e.g., general-purpose polystyrene or high-density polyethylene) is recommended before and after processing PA-707.
Storage and Handling
Store POLYLAC® PA-707 in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. When handling the material, it is recommended to use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and gloves. For detailed safety information, please refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for this product.
