Radici Renycle S GF2501 HFO PA6 Resin

Radici Renycle S GF2501 HFO is a recycled polyamide 6 (PA6) reinforced with 25% glass fiber, specifically designed for applications requiring high flowability and thermal stability.

Physical Properties

  • Density: Determined in compliance with ISO 1183 standards, the density measures 1.38 g/cc (0.0499 lb/in³). (Comments: DAM)

Polymer Properties:

  • Base Material: Polyamide 6 (PA6)
  • Reinforcement: 25% Glass Fiber
  • Key Features:
    • Hydrolysis Resistance: Specifically designed to withstand exposure to hot water and moisture, preventing a significant loss of mechanical properties over time.
    • High Stiffness and Strength: The 25% glass fiber reinforcement provides excellent tensile and flexural strength, suitable for load-bearing components.
    • Good Dimensional Stability: The glass fibers minimize thermal expansion and contraction, ensuring consistent part dimensions.
    • Chemical Resistance: Offers good resistance to a wide range of chemicals, including automotive fluids, oils, and greases.
    • Sustainable Sourcing: Made from recycled PA6, this product contributes to the circular economy by reducing the use of virgin raw materials.
    • Processability: Despite its specialized formulation and glass fiber content, it can be processed efficiently using standard injection molding equipment.

Applications:

The unique combination of high mechanical strength, thermal stability, and sustainability makes Radici Renycle S GF2501 HFO PA6 suitable for a variety of industries:

  1. Automotive:
    • Perfect for under-the-hood components like engine covers, intake manifolds, and structural brackets where heat resistance and durability are critical.
    • Its high strength-to-weight ratio also supports lightweighting initiatives, contributing to better fuel efficiency.
  2. Industrial Goods: A strong candidate for manufacturing gears, pulleys, and structural housings in industrial machinery that require robust and long-lasting materials.
  3. Power Tools: Excellent for handles, casings, and internal structural parts of power tools, offering the necessary strength to withstand operational stresses and vibrations.
  4. Electrical and Electronics: Can be used for connectors, insulators, and enclosures, where it offers a balance of mechanical strength and thermal performance.

Processing Conditions

  • Drying: This material is supplied pre-dried. If moisture is absorbed, it must be dried at 80°C for 2-4 hours in a dehumidifying dryer. Ensure moisture content is <0.1%.
  • Melt Temperature: 240-270°C. The exact temperature range depends on the specific injection molding machine and part design.
  • Mold Temperature: 80-100°C for optimal crystallization and surface finish. A higher temperature is recommended to improve surface quality.
  • Injection Speed: Medium to high. A fast injection rate helps prevent the melt from solidifying prematurely, especially in complex molds.
  • Screw Speed: Medium. Use appropriate back pressure to ensure a uniform and well-mixed melt.
