Envalior Akulon S223-HG6 PA66 Resin
Envalior Akulon S223-HG6 is a 30% glass-reinforced, heat-stabilized PA66 for high-strength, heat-resistant automotive, industrial, and electrical applications.
Physical Properties
- Density: Per ISO 1183, the density is 1.36 g/cc (0.0491 lb/in³), with 30% glass fibers and heat stabilization for high-temperature applications.
- Water Absorption: Simulating ISO 62, water absorption is 6.0 %, further reduced by increased fiber loading and thermal additives.
- Moisture Absorption: Under humidity conditions (sim. ISO 62), moisture absorption is 1.60 %, the lowest yet in the series, ideal for outdoor use.
- Linear Mold Shrinkage (Flow): As per ISO 294-4, flow-direction shrinkage is a minimal 0.0020 cm/cm (0.0020 in/in), dominated by fiber alignment.
- Linear Mold Shrinkage (Transverse): Per ISO 294-4, transverse shrinkage is 0.011 cm/cm (0.011 in/in), still manageable for precision molding.
Polymer Properties:
- Base Material: Polyamide 66 (PA66)
- Reinforcement: 30% Glass Fiber
- Modification Features:
- With 30% glass fiber, this grade offers an extremely high tensile modulus and flexural strength.
- Like other PA66 grades, it has good resistance to a wide range of chemicals, including oils, greases, and fuels.
- High rigidity for heavy-load applications.
Applications:
The combination of extremely high strength, stiffness and thermal properties makes it the preferred choice for the most demanding structural and functional applications.
- Automotive Structural Components: Parts in the engine compartment such as air intake manifolds, brackets, and engine covers that must withstand both mechanical stress and high temperatures.
- Industrial and Mechanical Engineering: Functional components in machinery, gear wheels, and bearing housings that are subject to heavy loads and continuous operation.
- Power Tools: Casings and internal components for professional power tools where durability and rigidity are paramount.
- Consumer Appliances: Structural parts in durable appliances that require high mechanical integrity.
