Polymer Properties:
- Base Material: PC (Polycarbonate) + ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate)
- Key Properties:
- Easy flow for efficient production of large or complex outdoor parts.
- Enhanced weather resistance and UV stability for prolonged outdoor use.
- High impact strength at low temperatures for cold-region applications.
Applications:
The unique combination of high impact strength, heat resistance, and weatherability makes Bayblend W85 HI the material of choice for demanding automotive exterior applications.
- Automotive Wheel Covers: This is the primary application for which the W85 grade was developed.
- It provides the durability needed to resist impacts from road debris, curbs, and other external factors, while also withstanding the high temperatures generated by the braking system.
- Automotive Exterior Trim: Other exterior parts, such as body side moldings, grilles, and mirror housings, where high impact resistance and weatherability are critical.
- Motorcycle and Powersports Components: Fairings, panels, and other parts for motorcycles, ATVs, and snowmobiles that must endure impact and environmental exposure.
