Dow ELITE™ 5401G LLDPE Resin

Physical Properties

• Density: Measured by ASTM D792, the density is 0.9175 g/cc (0.03315 lb/in³). This density gives the resin a good balance of flexibility and stiffness for packaging needs.
• Thickness: With a thickness of 50.8 microns (2.00 mil), it provides enough strength to protect products during packaging and storage.
• Melt Flow: According to ASTM D1238, the melt flow is 1.0 g/10 min. This rate ensures smooth processing when making films for packaging applications.
• Antiblock Level: The antiblock level is 2500 ppm. It prevents the film from sticking to itself, which is crucial for continuous – roll packaging processes.
• Slip Level: At 1000 ppm, the slip level reduces friction between film layers, making the film easier to handle and process.

   • Lamination Films: With clarity, moderate stiffness, and low blocking properties, it’s an excellent choice for lamination films in multi-layer packaging.
   • Multi-Layer Packaging Films: Used in co-extruded films, its compatibility with other polymers enhances overall film structure performance.
2. Industrial Packaging:ensuring films can withstand transportation and handling rigors
   • Industrial Pallet Wrap (Stretch Films): Its excellent extensibility and puncture resistance make it ideal for cast stretch films in industrial pallet wrapping.
   • Liner Bags: Used in producing liner bags for bulk packaging , its durability and puncture resistance ensure safe containment of heavy or abrasive materials.
   • Bag-in-Box Packaging: Combining flexibility and toughness, it’s suitable for bag-in-box applications (e.g., liquids like beverages or industrial fluids).

   • Flexible Pouches: Employed in stand-up pouches and other flexible formats for consumer goods (e.g., pet food, detergents, personal care products).
4. Hygiene and Medical Films:Excellent processability and mechanical properties suit hygiene and medical film applications needing cleanliness, strength, and flexibility. Specific uses are:
   • Apertured Topsheet Films: Flexibility and extensibility make it suitable for apertured topsheet films in hygiene products, providing comfort and fluid management.
