Celanese Celcon M270UV is a natural UV – stabilized, high – flow acetal copolymer by Celanese.

  • Density: As per ISO 1183, the material has a density of 1.41 g/cc in metric and 0.0509 lb/in³ in English, indicating its mass per unit volume.
  • Moisture Absorption: Tested at 23°C and 50% relative humidity following ISO 62, it absorbs 0.200 % moisture, showing its water – uptake tendency.
  • Water Absorption at Saturation: Based on ISO 62 standards, when fully saturated, the material reaches a 0.75 % water absorption level, important for wet – environment applications.
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage, Flow: According to ISO 294 – 4, the linear mold shrinkage along the flow direction is 0.017 cm/cm (metric) or 0.017 in/in (English), crucial for mold design.
  • Linear Mold Shrinkage, Transverse: Per ISO 294 – 4, the linear mold shrinkage perpendicular to the flow direction measures 0.016 cm/cm (metric) or 0.016 in/in (English), affecting part dimensions.

Processing Guidelines

Celcon M270UV is optimized for high-speed injection molding. Proper drying is crucial to ensure optimal processing and part quality.

  • Drying: Although POM has very low moisture absorption, it is recommended to dry the material at 80°C for 3 hours to remove any surface moisture.
  • Melt Temperature: 190-210°C
  • Mold Temperature: 60-90°C
